In April 2014, a joint venture between Magma Ceramics & Catalysts and Morgan Advanced Materials was announced. This merged Magma Ceramics & Catalysts with Morgan’s UK Fired Refractory Shapes business, based in Bromborough, creating a significantly larger and more effective business with access to a broader technology base.
Over 60 years of ceramic manufacturing experience and the amalgamation of two successful and experienced businesses allows improved real value and a commitment to speed of response to be delivered.
The combination of these two businesses now means that a wide range of technically advanced products can be delivered, including; fired shapes designed specifically for the customer’s application using techniques such as isostatic pressing thixotropic, , slip and freeze casting and a wide range of catalysts for the refining/petrochemical industry.
As part of the joint venture, we are pleased to announce that Magma’s range of MagCat catalysts is now also available via the Morgan Advanced Materials website.

Magma is pleased to announce the launch of a range of zirconia crucibles aimed specifically towards customers operating within the superalloy industry.
The new and innovative zirconia technology has been developed by Magma and applied to a select range of crucible products. This unique material offers significant benefits to customers including yield improvement and reduced process costs, which can offer cost advantages to customers who select these products.
